The KMPB School 2026: Symbols and Periods brought together early-career researchers, PhD students, postdocs and advanced Master’s students for an intensive week of lectures and scientific exchange at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
Throughout the week, participants explored mathematical methods for perturbative and non-perturbative computations of amplitudes, gaining insights into a range of topics at the intersection of mathematic sand theoretical physics.
The programme featured four lecture series by renowned experts in the field:
- Introduction to Symbology by Anastasia Volovich and Marcus Spradlin
- Elliptic Multipolylogarithms and their Symbol by Antonela Matijašić
- Periods in Mathematical Physics by Johannes Broedel
- Introduction to Resurgence by Veronica Fantini
Organised by PhD students at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and supported by the KMPB (Kolleg Mathematik Physik Berlin), the school provided a platform for bringing together young researchers from mathematics and physics. In keeping with the interdisciplinary spirit of the KMPB, it encouraged participants to exchange ideas, explore common research interests and build new connections across disciplines.
The school was a great opportunity to foster scientific exchange and strengthen the dialogue between mathematics and physics.
